Junior college

A junior college is like a community college in that the highest degree it awards is the associate's degree, but it is private. Junior colleges also differ from private technical colleges in that the degrees they offer are not specialized and a student is able to transfer the credits to a bachelor degree granting institution (this is not usually true of technical or specialized schools). Whereas most counties in the United States have a community college, junior colleges are not common and are usually military academies.
