Junior College

In India, a Junior College consists of classes (also known as grades by foreign schools) 11 and 12 and are taught by colleges rather than in schools. All schools in India are affiliated to either the state board or to the ICSE and CBSE boards up to class 10. After class 10, a student may choose a stream that he would like to do: Arts, Science, Commerce or a diploma are the popular courses available. Many colleges append the two classes and offer it to students. The students may opt for Junior College or continue with school (ie. if the school offers the two classes.).

Class 11 and 12 come under the HSC board in Maharashtra. The ICSE course is known as the ISC.
