The Juglandaceae are a family of dicotyledonous trees in the order Fagales. There are nine genera in the family, including the commercially important nut-producing trees walnut, pecan, and hickory.
Features common to all the genera include large, alternate, pinnate leaves 20–100 cm long, wind-pollinated catkin flowers and the fruit being a true botanical nut.
