JuJu Eyeballs

JuJu Eyeballs are a computer-generated ambient virtual band from Adelaide, South Australia, consisting of turntablist/rapper Maynerd "the Gleeman" Gleeson, vocalist Billie "Blyss" Horne and poet/keyboardist Clara "Poliphoni" Paige.

History

The members of JuJu Eyeballs began in cyberspace as normal Avatars; Maynerd was a musical experimentalist in his Loop Kitchen, perfecting the Theory of Stellativity, Billie a carefree spirit who was learning to sing, and Clara a reclusive dancer and poet, who lived in her Pixel Parlour above the Bay of Tranquility. When they reached their moment of Zenith, ie virtual perfection, they were transformed into alter-Avatars (Avatar guides), and JuJu Eyeballs was born.

In 2000 the band was entered into and won Triple J's Unearthed competition. This took the band out of cyberspace and to the real world. They released their first single, The Butterfly Factor (their submission to the Unearthed competition) through Warner/Chappell Music in 2001.
