Jon Spencer Blues Explosion

(Redirected from Jon Spencer)

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (sometimes abbreviated JSBX) is a New York based band, made up of members Jon Spencer (vocals, guitar), Judah Bauer (guitar) and Russell Simins (drums).

Their unique 'Explosion' sound is a raw and loud one, combining elements of rock and roll, blues, soul, rockabilly and hip hop, with an occasional theremin solo thrown in.

Before The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Spencer played in Pussy Galore and Boss Hog. Recently, the band decided to change their name simply to Blues Explosion. Spencer's singing is often described as sounding like that of an Elvis impersonator.
