Jinja, Uganda

Jinja is the second largest city in Uganda. It is located at 0:44:00N 33:20:00E near the source of the White Nile river, at the shore of Lake Victoria. The city lends its name to the district of Jinja, of which it is the 'chief town'.
The population of Jinja is approximately 106,000. It is the capital of Busoga and was industrial heart of Uganda between the 1960s and the 1980s. Jinja is a major station on the Uganda Railway and is a port for Lake Victoria ferries. Owen Falls Dam is nearby.
