Jin (rapper)

Jin Au-Yeung (traditional Chinese: 歐陽靖, simplified Chinese: 欧阳靖, pinyin: Ōuyáng Jìng), also known as Jin tha MC or simply Jin, is a Chinese American rap artist. Jin was born on June 4, 1982 in Miami, Florida. He currently resides in New York. Jin has been featured on BET and is known for freestyling. During the winter of 2001–2002, Jin was enshrined in the coveted Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame on BET's "106 & Park" television show for winning seven consecutive freestyle battles. He was only the second person to do accomplish this feat at the time. Shortly after his appearance on BET, Jin was signed to the Ruff Ryders.

Jin has a tattoo of the Chinese character 靖 jìng (tranquil) on his neck.

Jin made a minor appearance in the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious as a mechanic named Jimmy. His song "Peel Off" is featured on the 2 Fast 2 Furious soundtrack.

His first release under Ruff Ryders is titled "Learn Chinese". He also released his debut album The Rest Is History in October 2004, and it reached the top 100 of the Billboard Top 200 albums chart.

The Chinese lyrics used in the aforementioned song are from the Cantonese dialect.
