Jim Sheridan

James Sheridan is also a UK Labour politician.

Jim Sheridan (born February 9, 1949) is an Irish film director. In 1989 he directed My Left Foot, which became a critical and commercial success. He followed that up with The Field in 1990, then In the Name of the Father in 1993 which was an big success. The Boxer was nominated for a Golden Globe for best film drama in 1997. In 2002 he released the semi-autobiographical In America to rave reviews. He is currently directing Get Rich or Die Tryin', a film starring rap star 50 Cent. He's been nominated for six Academy Awards, but has yet to win.
