Jim Dobbin

James Dobbin (born 26 May 1941, Kincardine) is a politician in the United Kingdom, and Labour and Co-operative member of Parliament for Heywood and Middleton since 1997.

Before entering Parliament, Jim Dobbin worked as an NHS microbiologist for 33 years and worked at the Royal Oldham Hospital when the first test tube baby was delivered there. He was leader of Rochdale Council.

In Parliament, Dobbin has chaired the all-party Pro Life Group and been a member of the European Scrutiny Committee.
