Jim Cantore
Jim Cantore, a Weather Channel (TWC) meteorologist, is one of the more prominent weather broadcasters on the channel.
He is a favorite among watchers of TWC and, at this point, some say he may be their most famous broadcaster.
Born in White River Junction, Vermont, Cantore graduated from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont. The Weather Channel gave him his first job out of college. In July 1986, he first appeared on The Weather Channel.
Since then, he has reported on numerous hurricanes, including Hurricane Andrew in 1992, and the 4 hurricanes that hit Florida in 2004. He has reported on blizzards and floods, as well.
Mr. Cantore hosted the show, "Atmospheres," in 2000, and currently narrates the show, "Storm Stories," shown daily at 8 and 11 p.m. He is also on The Weather Channel as their Storm Tracker on Evening Edition from 9 to 11 p.m. Monday-Friday.
