Jieyang

Jieyang is a city with more than 100 000 inhabitants in the province of Guangdong of the People's Republic of China. Teochew, a dialect of Minnan is spoken in Jieyang county. Cultivation of rice and textile industry are important for the economy of the area. About 4.5 % of the inhabitants are Christians.

Jieyang Prison

Jieyang Prison is a Laogai that was established in 1951 as Jieyang County Public Security Bureau Labor Reform Detachment. In 1987 the name was changed to Guangdong Province Dongjing Labor Reform Detachment. The current name is used since 1995. Jieyang Prison includes a clothing factory.
