Jennifer Kendal
Jennifer Kendal (February 28, 1934 – September 7, 1984) was a British actress.
The daughter of Geoffrey Kendal and elder sister of Felicity Kendal, Jennifer Kendal was born in Southport, England, but spent much of her youth in India, where her parents ran a travelling theatre company, as described in the book and film, Shakespeare Wallah. In July, 1958, she married Indian film star, Shashi Kapoor, and they had three children, Sanjana, Kunal and Karan, all of whom went into the business. She was costume designer for several Indian films, but in the UK was less well-known than her sister, appearing in only a few films. Her most notable performances were in 36 Chowringhee Lane (1981) and in James Ivory's Heat and Dust (1983). One of her last screen performances was in the television adaptation of The Far Pavilions. She died in London of cancer.
