Jeff Widener

Jeff Widener is the Associated Press photographer who took the world-famous picture of "The Unknown Rebel" in 1989 during the Tiananmen Square Protests. The photo depicts a lone protester who single-handedly halted the progress of a column of advancing tanks for over half an hour.

He was nominated for the Pulitzer prize for SPOT NEWS PHOTOGRAPHY in 1990 for the above mentioned photo.
