Jean Piccard

Dr. Jean Piccard (January 28, 1884 – January 28, 1963) was a scientist and high-altitude balloonist, and several other members of the Piccard family including Jean's twin brother Auguste and Auguste's grandson Bertrand are known for ballooning.

The Star Trek character Jean-Luc Picard is his named after him and is his descendent.
