Jamiroquai is a British band led by lead singer Jay Kay (short for Jason Kay) and backed by bass and guitar players, drummers, and keyboardists. Their albums have sold many millions of copies. They even appeared as guests on one of Jamie Oliver's Naked Chef early shows as the celebrity chef loves the band immensly. Jamiroquai is the most known band of the acid-jazz movement started in London, other important groups are: Incognito, Brand New Heavies, Galliano and Corduroy.

Jamiroquai's first single, "When You Gonna Learn?", was released in 1992. Jamiroquai's first album, Emergency on Planet Earth, came out in 1993.

The third album, Travelling Without Moving, yielded a big American pop hit, "Virtual Insanity", in 1997.

Their hit single "Deeper Underground" was the soundtrack of a Godzilla movie.

The band's early songs had an acid jazz flavor. But due to Jay Kay's interest in funk and disco music, the band gradually shifted in other directions. By their fifth album, A Funk Odyssey (2001), the disco influence was especially evident. The fifth album's first single, Little L, scored high in many charts worldwide.

Jamiroquai is working on a new album called "Dynamite", scheduled to be released on June 20th, 2005.
