Isabella Rigney
Isabella Rigney (born 22 February 1942) is an acclaimed Australian opal miner. Born in Poland, for the past 40 years she has devoted her life to opals. Barely 5 ft tall she worked in the Australian outback, with a speciality in open cut mining and Queensland boulder opal. Rigney has mined some widely-acclaimed opal including opals from opalized trees millions of years old and opalized skulls of kangaroos. She owns a number of opal mines and discovered many new opal territories .
