Insecticons

The Insecticons are a supgroup of bug-based Transformers from the Transformers universe. They were called Insectrons in Japan

Originally, they were three Deceptions that Megatron left on his ship as back-up. When the Decepticon ship was to crash on Earth and the trio got out via an escape pod. In order to survive, they scanned the forms of the surrounding area's insects. This enabled them to extract energon from organic life, though they still ingest metal-based matter as well. But as they took on the forms of insects and not their size, the three Insecticons caused terror for any human living nearby.

They were eventally found Megatron centuries later and were re-recuited back to the Decepticons. But they became more independent as a result of their kind's long absence, making them loose cannons. But that was overlooked due the Insecticon's ablilty to create clones of themselves that follow the originals the like a army. By 2005, the Insecticons were crushed by Hot Rod and were tossed out into space with Megatron, Skywarp, and Thundercracker. They were empowered by Unicron and were evolved into Scourge's personal army, the Sweeps.

Beast Wars Second

Formerly mercnaries for hire, the Insections ended up on the Antarctica region of Gaia where they live peacefully. But Starscrem tricked them intoo fighting the Maximals for them until they the ruse was ruined by Galvatron's fits. They had encountered their sworn rivals the AutoRollers.

• BigMos (Transquito in US): The team leader. He was saved by AutoStinger in his mercenary days. Beast mode is a mosquito, with a 'antion' mode.

• PowerHug (Retrax in US): Judo master who sets store by etiquette. Beast mode is a pillbug.

• Tonbotto (JetStorm in US): A affectioned scout, the fastest flyer in his group. Beast mode is a dragonfly.

• Mantis (ManTerror in US): A lone samurai who doesn't hesitate to attack anybody who gets in his space. Beast mode is a preying mantis.

• DrillNuts (Drilbit in US): The team inventor, his beast mode is a wevil.

• ScissorBoy (PowerPinch in US): The shatty and shrewd safecracker who becomes good friends with Tasmania Kid. Beast mode is a earwig.
