Inrush Current

Here's an example of inrush current transients during capacitor bank energization. The peak inrush current transient can get as high as 28.4 kA

Inrush current or input surge current is the maximum, instantaneous input current drawn by a power converter at turn on. Typically the charging current of the input capacitance.
