Ingram Hill
A band from Memphis, Tennessee, which traces its history as far back as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash to as recently as their college years at the University of Memphis in 2000. In the Summer of 2000 childhood friends Justin Moore (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Phil Bogard (lead guitar) joined with Shea Sowell (bass, background vocals) and Matt Chambless (drums)to form Ingram Hill. The band spent much of the next year and a half touring throughout the South and Southeast making a name for themselves.
In 2002, the band released an EP, Until Now, on Traveler Records, an independent label. The lead singer of Tonic, Emerson Hart, produced five of the tracks on Until Now. As a result of the band's tireless touring efforts over 10,000 copies of Until Now were sold throughout the country. (two interesting pieces of trivia from the wiki entry: 1) 385 copies of Until Now were sold in one night in Michigan and 2) the album was on the top 5 chart in Memphis at a time R&B, Hip Hop and country artists dominated sales in the region)
Sometime along the way, new songs were written, rehearsed and recorded to create Ingram Hill's first full length album, June's Picture Show. Once the band found their way to the recording studio in Atlanta they made sure the person behind the controls was worthy of the task. Rick Beato (Charlie Mars, Shinedown and others) fit the bill. Intended as an independent release, Hollywood Records stepped in and changed Justin, Phil, Matt and Shea's plans!
Released in February 2004, two tracks from June's Picture Show have become Billboard Adult Contemporary Hits... "Will I Ever Make it Home" and "Almost Perfect." Ingram Hill continues to tour at an admirable rate, appearing both as headline act and support for artists ranging from Better than Ezra to Hanson. Along the way, the band creates fans and friends. One distinquishing feature of the band is that after each performance they make the effort to greet and interact with fans... part of their Southern charm that is for sure!
