Catholic schools
Catholic schools, also known as separate schools, have an entirely different admission procedure from the public school system. To be accepted to a Catholic school, the family must prove the child's Catholicity, usually by providing a copy of his/her baptismal certificate.

There are a wide variety of private schools in Toronto including independent schools (preparatory schools) and religious schools.
