Ibn al-Qayyim
Ibn al-Qayyum was the closest student to ibn Taymiyyah.
He was an extensive writer and is generally more accepted than his teacher who had many detractors.
Amongst his works are Ilam al-Muwaqqin in Islamic jurisprudence, Kitab ar-Ruh a book dealing with the soul. A book which is widely read by both Sufis and their opponents alike and Madarij as-Salikin which is a commentary unpon a work by the Afghan Sufi Abdullah al-Ansari
