I class destroyer

The I class was a class of eleven destroyers of the Royal Navy launched in 1936–1937. They were similar to the ships of the G and H class, except that they had ten torpedo tubes instead of eight. They served in World War II and seven were lost.

• Imogen, launched on 30 October 1936, lost on 16 July 1940 after colliding with the cruiser Glasgow
• Imperial, launched on 11 December 1936, severely damaged by air attack on 29 May 1941 in the battle of Crete, sunk by torpedoes from Hotspur
• Impulsive, launched on 1 March 1936
• Inconstant, launched on 24 February 1941
• Inglefield, launched on 15 October 1936, sunk by a German wire-guided missile off Anzio on 25 February 1944
• Intrepid, launched on 17 December 1936, sunk by German Ju 88 planes at Leros on 26 September 1943
• Isis, launched on 12 December 1936, sunk by a mine off Normandy on 20 July 1944
• Ithuriel, launched on 15 December 1940, bombed at Bône and never repaired
• Ivanhoe, launched on 11 February 1937, sunk by a mine on 1 September 1940
