Hurricane Klaus
- This article is about the 1990 hurricane; there was also a Hurricane Klaus during the 1984 Atlantic hurricane season.
Hurricane Klaus, like Hurricane Diana, was a relatively weak hurricane which did a remarkable amount of damage.
Klaus became a tropical storm east of the Lesser Antilles in October 1990 and became a hurricane, passing close to Antigua and Barbuda. It headed north of the Leeward Islands and Virgin Islands, fluctuating in strength as it approached the Bahamas. Klaus fell apart as it was absorbed by a low pressure system. The remnants made landfall in the southeastern United States and brought heavy rainfall to South Carolina and Georgia.
4 people died due to a dam burst in Georgia.
