Hurricane Bob (disambiguation)
The name Bob was used for three tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean.
- 1979's Hurricane Bob – formed in the Gulf of Mexico, strengthened rapidly and hit Louisiana, killing one and causing $20 million in damage. Also notable in that it is the first hurricane ever in the Atlantic to have a male name.
- 1985's Hurricane Bob – formed the Gulf, crossed Florida as a tropical storm, made landfall again at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, causing minor damage and killing one in North Carolina.
- 1991's Hurricane Bob – struck New England and the Canadian Maritimes, killing 15 in the United States, 2 in Canada, and causing $1.5 billion in damage.
The name Bob was retired after the 1991 season, and was replaced by Bill in the 1997 season.
