Human Genome Sciences
Human Genome Sciences is a biopharmaceutical corporation founded in 1992. Its stated purpose is "to create a global biopharmaceutical company to discover, develop, manufacture, and market gene-based protein and antibody drugs to treat and cure disease". The company focuses especially on early- to mid-stage drug development, as well as drug discovery.
Its facilities (called the Human Genome Sciences Headquarters) in Rockville, Maryland earned its architect—Davis Carter Scott, Ltd.—an award from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. The Association cited the glass walls, atrium, and uniform design of all the buildings as reasons for the award.
