Hulett C. Smith

Hulett Carlson Smith (born October 21, 1918) served as Governor of West Virginia from 1965 to 1969.

Smith was born in Beckley, West Virginia and he served in the Navy during World War II. Smith was the chairman of the West Virginia Democratic Party from 1956 to 1962. He was elected Governor in 1964 and served for one term. He was unable to run for a second term in 1968. After his term as Governor, Smith served as a Presidential elector in 1972 and 1992.
