Howard Finkel
Howard Finkel (born June 7, 1957) is a professional wrestling ring announcer.
"The Fink" is the longtime ring announcer for the WWE, where he has been employed since 1976. Finkel is famous for his forceful voice and deliberate intonations in announcing wrestling superstars entrances and victories for going on thirty years.
Finkel, a native of New York City, was first hired by Vince McMahon, Sr. as an announcer for the World Wide Wrestling Federation shows at Madison Square Garden in 1975. When Vince McMahon, Jr. took over and the name was changed to World Wrestling Federation, Finkel was one of the first employees retained, and he was made lead ring announcer for the WWF's biggest events. He is credited with giving Ricky Steamboat his "Dragon" nickname.
Today, Finkel's television appearances are sporadic, appearing only at major pay-per-view special events and on WWE RAW's "B" program, Sunday Night Heat.
