House of D

House of D, which was David Duchovny's directorial debut, Duchovny plays an American artist living in Paris, who reminisces about growing up in Greenwich Village in the 1970s. (The "House of D" is the Greenwich Village Women's Detention Facility, which frequently housed prostitutes.) Eventually, he returns home to reconcile with his family and friends. The film also stars Erykah Badu, Frank Langella, Tea Leoni, Robin Williams, Zelda Williams, and Anton Yelchin. It was screened at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival.
