The European lobster (Homarus gammarus) is a large clawed lobster whose range includes the eastern Atlantic Ocean from the Lofoten Islands in northwestern Norway to the Azores and Morocco. It has also been found in parts of the Mediterranean Sea and the northwestern parts of the Black Sea. Its counterpart in the western Atlantic is the American lobster Homarus americanus.

This species is rarely found deeper than fifty metres, but can be found anywhere from the low tide mark to 150 metres.
