Herbert Mackworth Clogstoun
Herbert Mackworth Clogstoun was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

Details
He was 38 years old, and a Captain in the 19th Madras Native Infantry, Indian Army during the Indian Mutiny when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC.
On 15 January 1859 at Chichumbah, India, Captain Clogstoun charged the rebels into the town with only eight men of his regiment, compelling them to re-enter and finally to abandon their plunder. He was severely wounded himself and lost seven out of the eight men who accompanied him.
He was killed in action, Hingoli, India, on 6 May 1862.
