Heightism

Heightism is a form of discrimination based on height.

Many short men feel they are not taken seriously in the work place or by their peers because of their smaller stature.

It can also relate to women's dating preferences. Many short men feel that women, especially in Western societies, possess a strong prejudice against them, having a bias towards tall men. Many feel this is unrealistic, since the average difference between men and women is only 5 inches, but women, especially those below average height, demand a partner in many cases a whole foot taller than they are.

They also point out that in the media, making fun of short men appears to be condoned whereas making fun of skin colour or weight (especially female weight) is taboo.
