Hawkeye Community College

Hawkeye Community College (HCC) is a community college, with its main campus located just outside Waterloo, Iowa. HCC has several outlets in nearby towns. The Hawkeye Institute of Technology (HIT) opened on July 1, 1966; replacing the Waterloo Area Vocational School. In 1992, Hawkeye became "comprehensive"; addding courses in the liberal arts and sciences. In July 1993, the school's name changed from HIT to HCC. The school's president is Bettsey Barhorst and the vice-president is Guy Aylward.
