Haw flakes

A Chinese candy that is a product of the Sunflower company. The main ingredients are Haw (of the hawthorn flower), sugar, and water. The Haw is compressed into flat discs (about 1 mm thick), then stacked into cylinders of about 32. There are 10 rolls in a 125 gram package, and they can be found in the US for under a dollar. The instructions say to "storeina cooldry place" and there are several illustrations of where and how to enjoy Haw Flakes, like at a picnic or in front of the TV according to the wrapper.
