Was a philantrophist and donated generously to alleviate the plight of the poor and needy in Singapore. Built mosques and houses to shelter the destitutes.

One of the mosques still standing today is situated at Kampong Gelam named "Hajah Fatimah" mosque, built under her name to commemorate her vast contributions to the community.
