Greater Poland Uprising 1806

Greater Poland Uprising of 1806 (Polish: powstanie wielkopolskie 1806 roku) was a military insurrection of the Polish people in the Greater Poland region against the occupying Prussian forces after the Partitions of Poland (1772–1793).

It was organized by the general Jan Henryk Dąbrowski to help the incoming French forces under Napoleon I to liberate Poland from the Prussian occupation. The uprising was a decisive factor that allowed the formation of the Duchy of Warsaw in 1806 and the inclusion of Greater Poland area in that political body.
