Graeme Cairns
Graeme Cairns is a New Zealand musician, artist, and political candidate. He is perhaps best known for his role as "Laird McGillicuddy", leader of the satirical McGillicuddy Serious political party. The party was founded in 1984, a year after Cairns unsuccessfully stood for Mayor of Hamilton. It became one of the better-known political parties in New Zealand, although it never won seats in Parliament. In addition to his political role, Cairns has been active in promoting "fringe art" such as street theatre.
