Gomati River
The Gomati River is a river in Uttar Pradesh, India it extends 805 km then becomes a tributary of the Ganges River. The main cities along the river are Lucknow and Jaunpur.
Hindu's believe that the river is daughter of Sage Vashistha, and bathing in the waters of the Gomati can remove sin.
The Gomati river is severly affected by sewage pollution, which has effected fish populations.
