Godred is a fictional character from the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends series.

He used to work on the Culdee Fell Railway, and from what Culdee says in the Railway Series story, "Bad Lookout", Godred's eyes were everywhere except the track. He was also named after a king, which made him conceited.

According to Culdee, Godred, while climbing the steep mountainside, slipped and fell off. Due to lack of money to rebuild him, he was taken to pieces and used to repair the other engines. There is speculation, due to the ending of the story, this never really happened. ("Skarloey and Rheneas didn't tell that Culdee had made the story up" or something to that effect.)

Godred's demise was based on the Snowdon Mountain Railway No1, LADAS, who was too named after royalty. This engine suffered a similar fate to Godred's on its maiden voyage. Only one person died in the accident.
