Godolphin Ministry

The Godolphin Ministry was Charles II's last ministry. Lord Godolphin took power in 1684, but after Charles's death in 1685, his successor, James II, purged the ministry of those whom he did not favour; Lord Rochester was "kicked upstairs," forming the Second Rochester Ministry.
