Gobo (recording)

Gobo is a slang term used by sound recording engineers to refer to a movable acoustic isolation panel.

It is used so that two or more musicians may play in the same room at the same time whilst being miked separately. Usually they are made from a wooden panel covered with carpeting.

The term is probably borrowed from the term Gobo as used in stage lighting.
