Glancing angle

In geometry, the glancing angle between a line and a plane that it intersects is measured between the surface of the plane (rather than from the normal of the plane which is the standard definition for angle of incidence).

The glancing angle is a useful quantity when dealing with small angles of incidence as in X-ray spectroscopy.
