Background
Born Jint Lynn on planet Martine of the Hyde star system, he was the son of Rock Lynn, a politician who eventually became president of the Hyde star system. It was during his administration that the Abh empire was able to annexe the Hyde stellar system into its territory through an invasion. In order to protect the rights of the people of Martine, Rock Lynn made a deal with the leaders of the ivading forces that the territorial lord of Hyde shall be chosen amongst the people of Martine. The leader of the invading forces agreed to this however his impatience meant that an election cannot be held making Rock, as the current leader of Martine, the natural choice to become its territorial lord. Because of this Rock Lynn, and with him, Jint, rose to the ranks of Abh nobility as Count of Hyde.
His name now spelt in its Baronh form as Ghintec instead of Jint, Ghintec was sent to Planet Delct of the County of Bhorach to learn Baronh and Abh culture from Imperial citizens. Approximately seven years later, in Abh reckoning, he was leaving Bhorach for a military colege in Lacmhacarh, the capital of the Empire, to continue his education. It was on his leaving Delct that he was able to meet Lamhirh, granddaughter of the Abh empress, who was then a flyer trainee of the Imperial Space Navy. The novels and the anime are basically a chronicle of their evolving personalities of the two and their evolving relationship with each other.
Ghintec's full name can be rendered in English as "Ghintec (ssynec Rocr Ïarlucec) Linn, Count (Dreuc) of Haïdec.
