Geschiebekunde
Geschiebekunde, or the scientific examination of erratics, is a discipline of geological science, an element of quaternary geology. It studies glacial erratics; rocks or boulders that are dislocated from their original location, transported and subsequently deposited by glaciers. The placement of these erratics and their differences in lithology compared to the surrounding landscape can be used to study the past movement of glaciers.
