George Nugent-Grenville, 2nd Baron Nugent

George Nugent-Grenville, 2nd Baron Nugent, GCMG, Irish politician.

Born 31 December 1789. Married 1813 to Anne Lucy (d. August 1848, daughter of General The Hon. Vere Ponsett. Liberal Member of Parliament for Buckingham, 1810–1812; for Aylesbury, 1812–1832. A Lord of the Treasury, 1830–1832. Lord High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands, 1832–1835. Unsuccessful candidate for Aylesbury, 1837 and 1839; for Southampton, 9 August 1842. Elected for Aylesbury 1847 and held the seat until his death, 26 November 1850.

Member of the Reform Club and the Athenaeum Club.
