Hiraga Gennai

Hiraga Gen'nai (平賀 源内 Hiraga Gen'nai 1729-79) is a famous Japanese inventor and scientist who is well known for his Erekiteru, Kandankei and Kakannpu.
A fictional characterization of Hiraga Gennai makes an apperence in the anime Read or Die, along with many other historical and legendary figures. In Read Or die, Hiraga Gennai uses his Erekiteru/Elekiter as a very high powered destuctive weapon that he uses to destroy the White House and eradicate an entire fleet of combat helicopters.
