Gay Meadow
The Gay Meadow is the home ground of Shrewsbury Town F.C., a football team in England. It lies just outside the town centre of Shrewsbury, on the banks of the River Severn. The stadium has a capacity of just under 8,000.
The area has long been called the Gay Meadow and was, until the football club moved there, a large meadow. The area floods though and this has caused the football club problems, especially in recent years. Shrewsbury Town are now looking at moving to a new ground, on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, the New Meadow – with an all-seating capacity of 10,000.
