Gavere is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Asper, Baaigem, Dikkelvenne, Gavere proper, Semmerzake and Vurste. On January 1st, 2004 Gavere had a total population of 11,916 (5,876 males and 6,040 females). The total area is 31.34 km² which gives a population density of 380.17 inhabitants per km².
