Gatineau (electoral district)
Gatineau is an federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada. It existed twice, from 1947 to 1987 and since 1996.

First Representation
The district was created from Hull and Wright. It was abolished into Chapleau.

Second Representation
The riding was created from GatineauLa Lièvre and consists of the former city of Gatineau, Quebec (pre-2002 borders). It has a population (2001) of 102,898 and an area of 156 sq. km.

Politics
The riding has always been safe for the Liberals, except for the Mulroney sweep in 1984. However, in the 2003 election the Bloc Quebecois came very close to winning this seat.
