Gabriel El-Registan

Gabriel El-Registan (1899 – 1945) was a Uzbek Soviet poet. He co-wrote the national anthem of the USSR Gimn sovetskovo soyuza in 1943 (translated into English as the Hymn of the Soviet Union). It was adopted as anthem in 1944.
