G. Manoli Loupassi
G. Manoli Loupassi, a Republican, is the President of the City Council of Richmond, Virginia. His former experience as a prosecutor, his connections to Virginia's "old boy" network, and his easygoing populist rapport make him a certain and formidable player in statewide politics. He attended "old boy" network bastions: St. Christopher's School in Richmond, Virginia, and Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He received his law degree at the T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond. Loupassi is a first generation native Virginian; his father immigrated to the United States from Crete and became a successful restaurateur and real estate investor.
